Cortese heads to Brno in good lead

23/08/2012

Red Bull KTM Ajo Factory Racing Team´s Sandro Cortese heads to season´s 11th Moto3 GP held at Brno circuit in Czech Republic in a nice 29 points lead.
22-year-old Cortese´s advantages have been beside a good pace also stability and maximum performance reliability. Cortese  made a strong come back to the team lead by Aki Ajo and has reached world championship points time after time with his KTM factory bike.
The German has reached already five pole positions and has been regularly seen on the podium with his two victories, mind three second places and four third places. He has been outside the  podium only once when he was sixth at the Dutch GP. Even that was a certain kind of victory for Cortese as his biggest rival, viagra 60mg Spanish Maverick Vinales, had to retire at Assen. Vinales had the same situation last Sunday at Indianapolis while Cortese was second.
Despite his young age Cortese is already having his eight MotoGP-season. He has highlighted the importance of gaining points during the long season. He knows to take the victory when it´s possible but he won´t force it by taking unnecessary risks.
“I have to try to keep this reliability also in the future”, Cortese plans, “OK, the championship lead is now pretty good but I can´t think that too much. It calms me in a way but it can´t do that too much. I have to keep my concentration and work in a high level race after race because the situation can change quickly”, Cortese reminds with the experience of 126 GPs.
Cortese has fairly nice memories from Brno. Last year he took the first GP victory of his career in the old 125 cc class.
Ajo, who has reached two world championships as a team leader highlights pretty much the same things as Cortese.
“We keep up working the same way and the aim is to reach as many points as possible from all the races and try to keep things simple”, Ajo says, “The less zero points we have the better the situation is when the season ends.”
Cortese has had a good self confidence during the whole first season of the new Moto3-class starting already from the winter tests. Ajo´s faith in Cortese is also in a really good level.
“Sandro has done a good job and ridden really sensibly. His experience has really paid off.”

Cortese´s teammates Danny Kent, 18, is ninth in championship standing and Arthur Sissis, 17, who is having his first GP-season is 15th.
“Kent was once again good in the practices and in the qualifying in Indianapolis but in the race he was forced to give up for the front group. I believe that when Danny has all the things sorted out he will fight for the victories already this season”, Ajo believes.
Riders like a lot of Brno´s 5,4 kilometres long track. It is totally different than Indianapolis circuit
“Brno is one of the nicest circuits of this series”, Ajo explaines, “There are many altitude differences, challenging curves and fast chicanes. There is also always a great feeling and a lot of crowd. Unfortunately they are forecasting that it will rain on the race day but there are couple more days to change the forecasts. Or at least we hope so.”
