Championship leader Cortese focus on San Marino GP
13/09/201212th Moto3 GP of the season is held this weekend in San Marino at the circuit of Misano named after Marco Simoncelli.
Red Bull KTM Ajo Factory Racing Team is in great situation when six GPs of the season remain, click Sandro Cortese leads the championship by 32 points. Cortese, doctor who has done a super stable work riding sensibly and competing in mature way, pilule is getting ready for Misano with a same good tactic he has used before. He aims to have as many points as possible and naturally a victory if it only is possible.
“The situation in championship standing is good but I can´t count only for that”, says Cortese, “There are still many GPs left so we still take one GP at a time and keep our concentration in a good level. Of course we have to keep the overall situation in our minds but right now everything is ready for good performance at San Marino GP.”
Neither Cortese nor any other Moto3 riders has won in Misano before. Last year Cortese was fourth in both 125 cc race and in qualifying at San Marino.
“I like the track and I am excited that I can ride here again”, says Cortese full of energy, “Of course my aim is to improve my position from the last year and extend my lead. However, as we already know, the fight for the victory in the leading group of this class is so tight and hard that we for sure will face once again a difficult and demanding weekend. But we will just do our best starting from the Friday´s free practice. I am confident.”
Two victories, three second places and five third places show how Cortese is in a great level. He has also taken the pole position five times.
Cortese´s teammates Danny Kent and Arthur Sissis also have all the possibilities for good results on a 4,2 kilometres long Misano circuit. The duo showed in last GP, held in Czech Republic, that they have potential for anything in this super even class.
