Khairuddin ends the GP season on podium

AirAsia-SIC-Ajon Team´s Malaysian rider Zulfahmi Khairuddin did a great job during the whole first Moto3 season. Today Khairuddin made his way with KTM bike to the second podium position of his career on wet Ricardo Tormo circuit in Spain.
Khairuddin started from 17th place of the grid but made a strong performance and crossed the finish line third only 0, discount 114 seconds after the winner Briton Danny Kent.

During the 2012 season Khairuddin made many times Malaysian Road Racing history. He finished second from pole in front of his home crowd at Sepang circuit. Also at Ricardo Tormo circuit he had a good pace and managed to keep his head cool.
“I took the beginning carefully but after that I improved my pace in difficult conditions. In the last curve I took a little risk and managed to pass Binder (Brad).”
The final lap was extremely good for Khairuddin. He was the fastest one of all the leading group riders. Khairuddin also made the fastest lap time of the race at that stage when he got ready for the final battle four laps before the finish line.
“After not that great qualifying I really believed in Fahmi and I was right. Once again a really strong performance from him”, team leader Aki Ajo praised Khairuddin who ended up seventh in championship standing.
