Mist leaves Red Bull KTM Ajo riders in garage on Friday
25/10/2013Weather conditions at Twin Ring Motegi force cancellation of opening day of practice through low visibility and safety reasons.
The opening practice sessions for the Japanese Grand Prix were unable to be held this Friday, shop owing to poor weather conditions. Mist present from the early hours of the morning at Twin Ring Motegi meant that Luis Salom, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, Arthur Sissis and the rest of the Moto3 field were obliged to stay in the pits. The impossibility of getting the medical helicopter flying in such conditions led to the practice sessions becoming impossible to undertake.
If these conditions are repeated tomorrow and impede the original schedule from being carried out, Race Direction have planned a new Sunday schedule to include a free practice session, a qualifying session and the race.
