Red Bull Husqvarna Ajo rider will seek his first podium of the year in Indianapolis, where Avant Tecno Husqvarna Ajo will return after missing German GP through injury.

The Moto3 World Championship returns this weekend after the summer break. Indianapolis is the location at which the Husqvarna riders will be back out on track to start the second half of the season –with nine races remaining. Danny Kent, on a clear upward trend, will try to take his first podium of the season, whilst Niklas Ajo is back from his ankle injury and will try to resume the fast riding which gave him his best placings in the World Championship to date.

Danny Kent finished the first half of the season in his best form. This is reflected by his performance in Germany, where he took his top result so far this season with fifth. The aim for the Red Bull Husqvarna Ajo rider will be to continue in the same manner after a three-week rest and try to place on the podium.

Husqvarna rider Niklas Ajo has spent longer on the sidelines, after a right ankle injury suffered at Assen prevented him from participating at Sachsenring. The Avant Tecno Husqvarna Ajo rider has fully recovered, thanks in part to some hard work over the summer. He will look to regain his feel for the Husqvarna and match his best results as soon as possible –namely eighth place in Catalonia and fifth at Mugello. His best finish at Indianapolis is eleventh last year, as he gained 13 positions.

This will be the second visit to the United States for the World Championship this year, after the Grand Prix of the Americas back in April. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has some new features this season, like the resurfaced asphalt and five minor modifications; Turns 3, 4, 7, 15 and 16 have all had changes made to them. Practice will begin on Friday with the first Free Practice session at 9:00am local time. The tenth race of the year will start at 11am on Sunday.

Danny Kent

“I’ve looking forward to getting back onboard the Husqvarna. These past three weeks I have been training hard in order to continue my form from recent races. Indianapolis is a favourable circuit for me I’ve always enjoyed riding at that circuit. In 2012 I qualified well, as I was on the front row, although the race was certainly not good. Hopefully we will maintain our form from before the summer break and take another step forward to reach the podium. This is a different circuit to Assen and Sachsenring and the asphalt used to be a bit slippery, but this year it has been resurfaced so could  be quite different. I really like the layout, in any case.”

“I cannot wait to return at this race. It was very hard to watch the German  race on television, but I’m very focused on riding my Husqvarna again this weekend. These last three weeks have been perfect for me and I’ve been training to recover fully from my injury. Though this is not one of my favourite tracks, I think the fact that I am making a return to competition will give it a different feel. This year the track has been resurfaced and several corners have been modified, so Thursday will be more important than ever when it comes to making a reconnaissance lap to analyse all the changes.”
