Johann Zarco arrives at Mugello with the intention of achieving his fifth consecutive podium of the season. After achieving third place at Le Mans, the Frenchman intends to maintain the level he has shown so far this season and further increase the advantage of 21 points he holds as leader of the Moto2 standings.

The Ajo Motorsport rider is experiencing the best start to a season of his career, on a run of four consecutive podium finishes. He took 4 in the entirety of 2014. The Frenchman has competed in 6 Italian Grands Prix, with a second place in 2011 (125cc) and a third in 2013 (Moto2) his best results. This time, he will try to take his Kalex to the top of the podium.

The Moto2 action in Tuscany begins on Friday with free practice and concludes on Sunday with the race at 12:20pm local time.

Johann Zarco,
“It was at the Mugello circuit where I got my first big result, a sixth in my fifth race as a World Championship rider (2009). Two years later, also in 125cc, I got a second position there, and in 2013 I claimed my first podium in Moto2. So I think it’s a circuit where I can be fast with the Kalex. After Le Mans, I want to fight for victory again and enjoy the weekend. I hope I can take the win, especially to dedicate the victory to my crew chief, Massimo [Branchini], who is Italian. Hopefully the weather is favourable.”
