After winning the Catalan GP on Sunday, Johann Zarco was back onboard his Kalex again today to complete a very positive day of testing. The day was interrupted by rain at noon, but that did not stop the test from resuming in the afternoon. Besides working on the setup of his bike, the Ajo Motorsport rider also tested out a new tyre compound.

Although he leads the Moto2 World Championship after seven races, Zarco is not easing up and has kept up his demanding work schedule. With this in mind, the team tried to continue taking steps forward with the setup of his Kalex this Tuesday, working with different chassis configurations and focusing especially on the front end. Confident after his result on Sunday, the Ajo Motorsport rider drew positive conclusions from a day in which he put in a total of 70 laps -330 km. Furthermore, in the final stint of the day, the Frenchman successfully tested one of the two new Dunlop tyre compounds.

After this day of testing at Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, the Ajo Motorsport team travel to Holland, where next week Zarco will try to increase his personal record of consecutive podiums to seven. The Dutch TT Assen takes place on Saturday June 27th.

Johann Zarco,
“I’m very happy with how this day of testing went at Barcelona, after the victory last Sunday. The rain broke up the day a little, but we have drawn some very positive conclusions. In addition, although we tested different setups, we were able to ride almost as fast as in the race and the truth is that I felt more relaxed on the bike than before. We were also able to try one of the new compounds brought here by Dunlop, and the feeling with that was very good right from the beginning -although we were unable to put in many laps. I am already looking forward to the next GP and making further progress in the Moto2 World Championship.”
