Johann Zarco starts the 2016 preseason
17/11/20152015 Moto2 World Champion completes positive two day test in Valencia.
At the scene of the 2015 World Championship finale, order the Comunitat Valenciana Circuit, Johann Zarco this week began his preparations for 2016. The Ajo Motorsport rider completed two positive days of testing on Monday and Tuesday, aided by good weather as he put his new Kalex bike to the test.
This first encounter with the new developments made by Kalex allowed Zarco and his team to begin finding the most appropriate settings for his riding style. The Frenchman concluded the first preseason test satisfied, and amongst the fastest riders on track. He put in a total of 148 laps over the two days, frequently going round in under the circuit record.
The winter ban on testing in December and January means that Zarco will be taking a well-deserved rest, before getting back on his Kalex in February.
Johann Zarco,
“These two days in Valencia were a good test for us, especially considering that we did not have a good weekend here during the GP. I never felt very comfortable on the bike, but from Monday I got faster and my feeling improved. This has made me more relaxed mentally. We have been working on different balances for the bike. After a year of experience, we don’t need to focus on times but rather work on understanding the bike better. We need to see what setups are best and be prepared for the different conditions that will occur next year. This is what we have been working on. Today the conditions were very good; it was sunny, warm and there was no wind. We finished off by setting a good time, which takes us into the winter break with a smile on our faces.”
