Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 rider faces second race of 2019 aiming to adapt to and learn a new track.

Red Bull KTM Ajo and Can Öncü head to Argentina for the second round of the Moto3 World Championship season. After two weeks off in his native Turkey, the 15-year-old rookie is optimistic about his debut at an unknown circuit for him: Termas de Rio Hondo.

A crash involving multiple riders on the opening lap of the Qatar GP hindered the rookie at Round 1, and he finally finished the race in eighteenth place. Öncü moves on to South America motivated to continue learning more about his KTM Moto3 and claim his first points of the season. One of his big challenges this year is adapting to unfamiliar tracks, and he is targeting progress in order to obtain a strong position on the grid.

The 21-lap second race of the 2019 Moto3 World Championship will be held on Sunday March 31st at 12pm local time.

“I have never ridden at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit before, so we will have to work hard this weekend to get familiar with the track and adapt to it. Everyone says that it is a circuit that requires strong braking and getting on the throttle early, so that might work in our favour. If we are intelligent about things, we can achieve a good result. Above all, it will be important to do better in qualifying. We will give it our best shot and see what happens.”
