Niki Tuuli completes the first of three Official Test days for the electric championship at the Andalusian track.

It has been just over three months since the MotoE series’ first season came to an end in Valencia. This Tuesday, Avant Ajo MotoE and Niki Tuuli were back in action with the first official test of the 2020 preseason, which runs through to Thursday. The Finnish rider enjoyed a fruitful opening day and finished inside the Top 5 in the combined timesheets.

The first day of the test consisted of three 30-minute sessions, in which Tuuli placed 8th, 4th and 4th, respectively. Niki showed great progress throughout Tuesday, improving his time by more than two seconds from morning to afternoon, with a personal best of 1:49.054. Over the 27 laps he put in today, the Finnish rider worked with his crew to find a good setup that allows him to feel comfortable.

The Avant Ajo MotoE team have two more days at the Jerez-Angel Nieto Circuit this week, as they prepare for the start of the 2020 FIM MotoE World Cup.

“I felt good today. I was a little nervous about how my leg would respond after the injury I suffered last season. Luckily, I hardly felt any pain when riding, and neither when I got off the bike. That is certainly very important and I am happy about it. Throughout the day I felt increasingly better and, together with the team, we found the points that we have to improve and that will allow me to make my riding style better. In addition, we set good times alone and were consistent.”
