Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 duo return to the Red Bull Ring this weekend for the Austrian Grand Prix, the eleventh round of the 2021 season.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 have a second consecutive round at the Red Bull Ring this weekend, with the Austrian Grand Prix. Both Remy Gardner and Raul Fernandez will seek to achieve another great result at the home of KTM and Red Bull. The pair are currently the strongest duo on the Moto2 World Championship grid, leading the overall standings for riders and teams.
At the most recent Grand Prix, Gardner claimed important points with a fourth place finish, after showing great competitiveness by leading the way for much of the race. In addition, the Australian also took the pole position at the Styrian GP. Now the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 rider returns to the Austrian track wanting to repeat the podium he took last year, with a third place. Gardner is the current leader of the series with 197 points.

Fernandez wants to bounce back after a tough weekend, in which he ended up taking seventh place in the race. The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 rookie will look to take advantage of all the knowledge acquired at the previous event at the Austrian track this time around. Fernandez is second in the Moto2 World Championship with 162 points.

The 25-lap Moto2 Austrian GP takes place on Sunday, August 15th at 12:20 PM local time. Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 have achieved two victories at the Red Bull Ring: With Brad Binder in 2019 and with Jorge Martin in 2020, as well as two second positions thanks to Oliveira – in 2018 – and Martin – in 2020.

87 REMY GARDNER

“In general, the previous GP was good for us. However, it was a tough weekend, especially on Sunday, due to the changing weather conditions. At the Austrian Grand Prix, we will work to fix the small mistakes we made at the previous round, so that we can fight to get on the podium. The goal for this contest is to get as many points as possible, once again. It will be an important race, as we have the support of KTM and Red Bull fans. That gives us some extra motivation.”

25 RAUL FERNANDEZ

“Last round was quite difficult for us. Luckily, we have a new opportunity to try to leave Austria with a good taste in our mouths and a great result. We will work hard to make that happen. The most important thing this weekend will be to remain calm and focused on our goal, which is to get onto the podium. We have the bike to do it. At the Styrian Grand Prix I was very happy to see the stands full of Red Bull and KTM fans. After a long time without them, we can be close to them again. I hope that this stays the same for a long time.”
