Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 in top form ahead of Dutch GP

21/06/2023

Pedro Acosta and Albert Arenas will compete on the last of three consecutive weekends.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 team arrives in Assen with great enthusiasm after the positive weekend they had at the German Grand Prix. Achieving his second consecutive victory, Acosta continued to close the gap in the title chase. Albert Arenas had one of his best weekends at the Sachsenring and wants to continue with these good feelings in Assen.

Acosta was consistent throughout the entire German Grand Prix, both in dry and wet conditions. He once again had a great race to win his second race in a row -the first back-to-back victories of his Moto2 career-. This weekend he heads to the TT Circuit Assen, where he did not race last season, and does so second in the overall standings with 124 points.

Arenas enjoyed one of his best weekends of the season to date in Germany. The Spanish rider improved his feeling and was steady in each of the sessions, taking a step forward as he looks to continue progressing in the coming races. He finished in the Top 10 at Sachsenring, in ninth position. Arenas did not score points at Assen last year, but goes there willing to improve on the results achieved this season. He currently occupies thirteenth position in the standings with 34 points.

Red Bull KTM Ajo took victory last year with Augusto Fernandez; and in 2021 celebrated a one-two finish with Raul Fernandez and Remy Gardner. They are currently second in the Team standings with 158 points. The 22-laps Moto2 Dutch GP race takes place at 12:15 PM local time on Sunday.

#57 PEDRO ACOSTA

“Last year we couldn’t come to Assen because of my injury. It will be a weekend for starting from scratch and moving little by little to be competitive on Sunday. It is the last race of the three and we arrive with extra motivation after two consecutive victories. I think that with the team’s haes work we can do well here.”

#75 ALBERT ARENAS

“Assen is a circuit where I was fast last year. We come off very positive progress in Germany and it will be important to have confidence. We want to continue in the same way and do well. I hope to have a good last weekend before the summer break.”
