Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 look to continue progressing in Austria

16/08/2023

Deniz Öncü and Jose Antonio Rueda arrive at the Red Bull Ring focused on achieving good results.

The tenth round of the Moto3 season takes place in Austria this weekend. The Red Bull KTM Ajo riders face a new challenge at the legendary Red Bull Ring circuit, off the back of results at Silverstone which saw Jose Antonio Rueda place eighth and Deniz Öncü eleventh.

Öncü enjoyed a solid weekend despite tricky track conditions at the British GP. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider fought for the win until the last lap, although contact with another rider dropped him to eleventh before the end. The Turkish rider arrives in Austria in good form and the desire to stay among the top positions. After falling just short of a podium finish at the Red Bull Ring last season, when he placed fourth, he will be looking to get on the rostrum this time around at the Austrian GP. Öncü remains in the Top 5 of the overall standings with 99 points.

Rueda took a big step forward at Silverstone and improved in both dry and wet conditions. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider had an outstanding race at the British GP, climbing from 16th to finish 8th. The Moto3 rookie continues his process of adapting to the class, feeling more and more comfortable and eager to get good results. Rueda was second at the Red Bull Ring last year in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. With 60 points, he remains eighth in the Moto3 standings.

Red Bull KTM Ajo lead the team classification with a total of 159 points. The 20-lap Moto3 Austrian Grand Prix race will take place on Sunday, August 20th at 11 AM local time.

#53 DENIZ ÖNCÜ
We have been really strong for a couple of races and this is good to see. We’ve definitely got a big role to play at the home GP for KTM and I want to get some points back because I made a mistake on the last lap at Silverstone. I think we can achieve good results again and it’s important to keep up our perseverance and strong mindset.

#99 JOSE ANTONIO RUEDA
We arrive in Austria with plenty of desire. It is a circuit that we know from last year in the Red Bull Rookies Cup and where we got good results. We are motivated to continue working to fight for the podium and continue to improve. It is an important Grand Prix for the team and we want to give it our best from Friday onwards.
