The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 duo finish in fourth and 22nd positions, respectively.

This Thursday, the second day of the Official Test took place at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, under perfect riding conditions. The Red Bull KTM Ajo riders enjoyed a solid showing and took big steps forward compared to the previous day. Both Celestino Vietti and Deniz Öncü went from strength to strength, finishing fourth and 22nd overall.

Vietti had a very good feeling after an intense day of work. The Italian is adapting well to the team’s dynamic, which resulted in his improvement in lap times since the first session. Vietti continued working and claimed the top spot in the second session, then went fastest in the afternoon runout. He was fourth with a time of 1:40.975, after a total of 79 laps.

Öncü continues to make progress in Moto2, trying to make the right adjustments to both the bike and his riding for the season ahead. He focused on consolidating the knowledge acquired on Wednesday, and continued to put kilometres under his belt, consistently riding around the Top 15 on the timesheets and looking at an improvement in lap times. His best time of 1:41.803, in the second session, placed him in 22nd position overall, after completing a total of 64 laps.

Red Bull KTM Ajo will complete preseason with the last day of testing on Friday, from 10 AM, local time.

#13 CELESTINO VIETTI

“The feeling is getting better day-by-day. I think that we are going in the right direction. We tried new things that helped us to be more comfortable riding the bike. We need to analyse that and continue working, but I’m happy with the results. Tomorrow we have another opportunity to take a step forward.”

#53 DENIZ ÖNCÜ

“We have finished the second day and we are taking really good steps forward. I really enjoyed riding the bike and our pace was also good. I’m still a rookie so I struggle a bit in terms of setting a fast lap time, but we feel strong and we can improve a lot. Let’s enjoy the last day of testing.”
