Action returns at Silverstone for Rueda and Zurutuza

31/07/2024

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 duo take on the British Grand Prix this weekend.

After a three-week summer break, the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 team are now fully focused on the second half of the season, which starts this Friday at Silverstone. Jose Antonio Rueda and Xabi Zurutuza have been working hard to get in shape to fight for great results.

Rueda arrives at Silverstone highly motivated, after the German Grand Prix did not end as expected when he crashed while fighting for the podium on the final laps. He has been one of the strongest riders at recent races and wants to continue this form, targeting a minimum of a podium at the British Grand Prix. Last season he was eighth at Silverstone. With 59 points, he is ninth in the overall standings.

Zurutuza is once again facing a circuit that is unfamiliar to him. He returns to work in his first year in the Moto3 World Championship, having come close to scoring points at Sachsenring. With good results achieved earlier in the campaign, Zurutuza reaches the halfway point of the season in 22nd position in the standings, with 3 points.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 team are seventh in the team standings with 64 points. The 15-laps Moto3 BritishGP race will take place on Sunday, August 4th, at 11:15 AM, local time.

#99 JOSE ANTONIO RUEDA
“We’re back for another week of GP action and very motivated. I’m looking forward to getting back on the bike after three weeks off, and reuniting with the team. I want to fight for the podium again and be up at the top, as we went into the summer break with a bittersweet taste in our mouths because of the result in Germany. I’m happy to be back and I want to make the most of it after the work we’ve been doing.”

#85 XABI ZURUTUZA
“It’s finally a race weekend again, after the summer break. I’m really looking forward to riding at Silverstone, as it’s a circuit I don’t know yet. My goal is to keep moving up the order, score points and try to fight for the top positions.”
