The BritishGP welcomes Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 this weekend
31/07/2024Celestino Vietti will once again share the box with Marcel Schrötter at Silverstone.
Red Bull KTM Ajo return after a three-week summer break with the British Grand Prix, which takes place at Silverstone this weekend. Celestino Vietti is once again joined by Marcel Schrötter, who stands in for Deniz Öncü.
Vietti faces the tenth round of the season in very good form, off the back of his best result of the season. He was fifth at Sachsenring after fighting for the podium until the final corners. The Italian was twelfth at last year’s British GP, and is very confident of competing for the top spots again. Vietti is in ninth position in the standings, with 55 points.
Schrötter gets another race with Red Bull KTM Ajo as a replacement for Deniz Öncü. Despite working hard to recover from his left hand injury, the Turkish talent was unable to return in time for the British GP, meaning Schrötter contests a third race for the team. He was 18th and 17th, respectively, at the Dutch TT and German GP.
The Moto2 British GP will be held on Sunday at 2:30pm local time. In previous years, Pedro Acosta was third for the team in 2023 and Augusto Fernandez took victory in 2022. In 2021, Remy Gardner won the race, whilst in 2019 Brad Binder was third.

“Finally the second summer break is over. We were able to rest a bit and we also trained a lot. Now it’s time to start the second half of the season and we won’t stop until the end of the campaign. I’m really excited about racing again. I arrive at Silverstone with a lot of confidence after the good result and feeling we had in Germany. I want to continue that way this weekend to be in the top spots as much as possible.”

“First of all, huge thanks to Aki, KTM, Red Bull and the whole team once again for giving me another opportunity. I really enjoyed the last two Grands Prix with them and I’m looking forward to coming back again for the British GP. Silverstone is a tricky and long track, so I hope to get used to the bike quickly. We have a good base from the last two weekends, so hopefully I can adapt faster and take another step up from where we were. I can’t wait to see the team and start working with them again.”
