Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 hungry for more success at San Marino GP

04/09/2024

Jose Antonio Rueda and Xabi Zurutuza will compete at Misano this weekend after enjoying their best Grand Prix of the year.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 duo are in great form after the Aragon Grand Prix. Jose Antonio Rueda’s first Moto3 win was a big boost after the hard work done in the first part of the season. In addition, Xabi Zurutuza achieved his best result of the year and faces the San Marino GP with clearer ideas and a desire to continue progressing.

Rueda achieved his long-awaited first Grand Prix victory in a demanding race at Aragon. He handled the difficult conditions throughout the weekend, also becoming the 400th winner in the history of the World Championship. At Misano, he finished in ninth position last year. With 99 points, he is sixth in the overall standings.

Zurutuza is once again at an unfamiliar circuit, although with clearer ideas after the great work done at MotorLand Aragon. The Moto3 rookie achieved his best result of the season after finishing eighth. Zurutuza wants to continue fighting for the Top 10 again, to continue gaining experience. With 11 points he is 21st in the standings.

Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 are seventh in the Team standings with 113 points. In previous years the team have achieved great results at Misano, with Deniz Öncü’s third position in 2022 and Jaume Masia’s second position in 2021. In 2021, Masia and Pedro Acosta were second and third, respectively. The 20-lap Moto3 San Marino GP race will take place this Sunday at 11:00 am local time.

#99 JOSE ANTONIO RUEDA

“Misano is a circuit where I have very good memories and have achieved good results in the past. We’re coming into this Grand Prix with the best possible feeling after the win at MotorLand. Now it’s time to keep working to get back up there again. I think it’s one of the most important circuits of the season for us all, as in the end we’re fighting for 50 points here, with two races in a row at Misano. I’m very happy and looking forward to continuing to work with the team this weekend.”

#85 XABI ZURUTUZA

“I’m approaching this Grand Prix with great motivation after the good result we got at MotorLand. We have to keep working in the same way from Friday, trying to do a good job as soon as possible. It’s important to keep our sights on the race, so that Sunday will be easier. I’m very happy with the incredible work the team are doing, so I’m looking forward to getting there and continuing with our job.”
