The Italian rider takes part in his home Grand Prix, with his teammate focused on progress.

The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli hosts the second part of a Moto2 double header, after last weekend’s Aragon Grand Prix. The Red Bull KTM Ajo riders are fully focused on fighting for the top positions.

Celestino Vietti is coming into one of the most special weekends of the season for him. The Italian rider will compete in front of his home crowd after a bittersweet weekend in Aragon. Vietti could only manage tenth in a difficult race, in which a collision with another rider prevented him from fighting for higher positions. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider was on the podium at Misano last year, as runner up. Currently, he is seventh in the overall standings with 102 points.

Ater fully recovering from his injury, Deniz Öncü has made great progress in his adaptation to the class in recent races. A third place at the Aragon Grand Prix gave him his first podium in Moto2, following on from positive moments in the last few races. The Turkish rider was also on the podium last year, in Moto3, with a third place finish. Öncü  has 27 points this season and is seventeenth in the standings.

Red Bull KTM Ajo are sixth in the Team standings with 129 points. Last year, Pedro Acosta took victory at Misano for the outfit, while in 2022 Augusto Fernandez was third. In 2021 Remy Gardner and Raul Fernandez took first and second place, respectively. The Moto2 race will take place on Sunday at 12:15pm local time.

#13 CELESTINO VIETTI

“We are coming to a very special circuit for me, as it is my home Grand Prix. At Aragon, the race did not go as we expected and we could have fought harder after the work we did throughout the weekend. We have clear ideas and we know where we are strongest, so we have to continue working with the team as we have done so far.”

#53 DENIZ ÖNCÜ

“The podium at the Aragon Grand Prix was a very special moment for me and the whole team. We have worked very hard to adapt to the class, and we have come back very strong after the injury. I think we can do well at Misano, I have achieved good results there and I feel very good about this second consecutive weekend of racing.”
