The two Red Bull KTM Ajo riders finish Wednesday in 5th and 24th place

The second day of testing at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto featured Red Bull KTM Ajo riders Deniz Öncü (5th) and Collin Veijer (24th) taking another step forward, with just one day remaining of the 2025 preseason.

Öncü, was fast both in his Time Attack and race pace, and remains one of the quickest men at the test. He completed a total of 61 laps in the three sessions held on Wednesday, taking fourth place in both FP4 and FP6. This earned him a place in the Top 5 on the combined timesheets. His 1:40.186 was four tenths off the best time of the day, and took more than a second off his fastest time from Tuesday. It was also his best time ever at Jerez on a Moto2 bike.

Veijer was celebrating his twenty birthday on Wednesday, and did so putting in a total of 67 laps. As he did on Tuesday, the Dutch rider lowered his times in each session, taking almost a second and a half off his speediest lap from the first day for a final time of 1:41.392. He was one of the Moto2 riders with the greatest improvement made between days at the test. Veijer finished in P24 overall, with what was also his best lap on a Moto2 so far at the track.

#53 DENIZ ÖNCÜ

“That’s the second day in Jerez finished. We’re making good progress and working so hard, with the clear objective of trying to find the best base setup for this year. I think I’m improving lap-by-lap and we’re in good shape to continue tomorrow. We made a big effort today on the track, the team worked amazingy and our feeling is getting better and better every day. Tomorrow we have the last day of the 2025 preseason, so we want to check the last small things to arrive in Thailand with more security.”

#95 COLLIN VEIJER

“Today everything went much better than yesterday. We found some more confidence and also the track conditions were really good, so it was very easy to get a good feeling. We worked better during all the sessions today and we improved a lot, even though the position wasn’t that different. The feeling we had overall and the pace were both very good. We’re making good steps forward after the end of the Portimao Test, so I’m very happy with this. Tomorrow we will try to continue in this way to get ready for Thailand.”
