Red Bull KTM Ajo become 2025 Moto3 Team World Champions
18/10/2025The Finnish structure earn their second such title in the class thanks to a strong year for Jose Antonio Rueda and Alvaro Carpe, who are having one of the best seasons in the history of the class.
Red Bull KTM Ajo have been crowned Moto3™ Team World Champions for the second time in their history, following the results in this Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island. A 10th win for Jose Antonio Rueda and a 3rd place for Alvaro Carpe were more than enough to secure the title with three rounds remaining, demonstrating the team’s high level of performance in 2025 onboard the KTM RC4 with another double podium. The pair have already accumulated 538 points between them and, with 135 points still up for grabs, this is the best campaign since 2012 for Aki Ajo’s team, when they achieved 563 points with Sandro Cortese, Danny Kent and Arthur Sissis -the team’s title was created in 2018-.
With 10 wins, 18 podiums, 538 points, 6 Pole Positions and 6 fastest laps between the two Spanish riders, they took the title at the first opportunity. It comes in the wake of Rueda’s Rider World title two weeks ago at the Indonesian Grand Prix. This is the second time the team have won the honour, and their second double, following the 2021 triumph with Pedro Acosta and Jaume Masia, when they achieved 7 wins and 12 podiums.
From nineteen races, the team have been on the podium in all of them except three, demonstrating speed and consistency. Between the pair, they have led a total of 144 race laps, representing 43% of the total race distance covered in 2025, and adding some points in every single race. In fact, the duo have earned points with both riders on sixteen occasions out of a possible nineteen, figures that confirm their dominance throughout the season.
Jose Antonio Rueda has 10 victories, achieved in Thailand, the USA, Spain, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, San Marino, Indonesia and Australia. He’s the sixth rider in Moto3 history to win 10 races in the same season (after Gresini, Rossi, Marquez, Mir and Alonso). The Spaniard also has four more podium finishes: Second in Catalonia and Japan and third in Argentina and Germany. Rueda has had one of the best seasons in the history of the class, with 365 points, and is the structure’s fifth most prolific rider in the history of Red Bull KTM Ajo. In 2026, he will move up to Moto2, where he will try to continue expanding his great numbers with the team.
At his side, Alvaro Carpe has become the champion’s best squire with four podium finishes. Carpe began the season in a perfect way, with a one-two finish with his teammate in Thailand, in only his second ever race as a Moto3 rider. He also came in third in Aragon, second in Italy -just 6 thousandths of a second from victory- and third again this weekend at Phillip Island. He holds one Pole Position, two more front row starts and two race fastest laps, and so far has earned 173 points, keeping him in the running to be Rookie of the Year. Besides a DNF in Argentina, where he crashed on the final lap, and an unfortunate retirement in Indonesia, Carpe has finished in the points in the other 17 Grands Prix contested so far.
This is the best season for Red Bull KTM Ajo since they began running a two-rider lineup in Moto3. Overall, they are behind only by the Red Bull KTM Ajo team of 2012 (563 points with three riders) and the Valresa GasGas Aspar team of 2022 (576 points), whom they can still catch with the rounds in Malaysia, Portugal, and Valencia remaining.
Red Bull KTM Ajo would like to deeply thank each and every one of our team members for their work, dedication, and commitment to excellence, as well as all the sponsors who have supported us, once again, throughout this great 2025 season.
NIKLAS AJO – Team Manager
“This is a great end to a fantastic season for the team. It’s a pleasure to celebrate the Team title with Jose Antonio and Alvaro, two fantastic riders and talents who have been growing a lot with us since they started in the KTM GP Academy. We’ve demonstrated consistency and a lot of speed during the entire year, especially with Jose Antonio, with whom we also won the Moto3 title in our third year together in the class. Alvaro had a great performance from the beginning of the year in Thailand. He showed a lot of maturity and talent, so I’m sure we’re going to have a great year in 2026 with him -and also with Jose Antonio in Moto2. I want to say massive thanks to all our team for their work and dedication throughout the season. Also to all our partners, starting with Pierer Mobility Management and Red Bull since none of this would be possible without them.”#99 JOSE ANTONIO RUEDA
“I’m very happy to have been able to win this title with my teammate Alvaro and the rest of Red Bull KTM Ajo. Today’s race was incredible, I enjoyed a lot and I managed to win here for the first time. We’ve proven to be the best team this season with hard work, perseverance, and camaraderie, and now we’ve gotten our reward. There are still three races left in which to achieve more positive results for the team, but it’s a dream come true to have been able to seal the double here alongside a good friend. I want to thank the team for the opportunity and for the trust they’ve shown me over these three years, as the effort has been worth it. Now it’s time to enjoy the moment and keep working so we can celebrate more things together in the future in a new class.”#83 ALVARO CARPE
“I’m very happy to have been able to achieve this Team title alongside my teammate. For me, it’s a dream to be part of this family, and being able to close out my rookie year in the World Championship with this prize is incredible. Plus, we achieved it here in Australia, a track I loved from the first run, and where we finally came back to the podium after a lot of work, so it’s even more special for me. I want to thank everyone at Red Bull KTM Ajo for the trust and closeness they’ve shown me from the beginning, and my teammate for the help he has given me whenever necessary. I’ve learned a lot from him and everyone on the team. This is definitely motivation to do even better next year.”
