Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 hungry for more at Balaton Park
03/06/2026Brian Uriarte and Alvaro Carpe come with confidence and boost into the Hungarian GP after a 1-2 finish in Italy.
Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 travel to Hungary this week, riding high after their 1-2 finish at the Italian Grand Prix just a few days ago. Brian Uriarte and Alvaro Carpe continue their European double-header at Balaton Park, with form on their side and a strong position in the Rider and Teams standings.
Carpe is the Moto3 rider with the longest current consecutive podium finish streak, and fought back late on at Mugello to earn second place in the Italian Grand Prix. Runner-up spots in Catalunya and Italy have once again made him one of the riders to beat in the series, although he still lacks a victory to his name. He will try for the win this weekend at Balaton Park, where he rode for the first time last season at the inaugural Moto3 Hungarian Grand Prix. There, he qualified fourth and finished ninth in the race, a positive result he hopes to improve upon in 2026. Currently, the Spaniard is second in the overall standings with 93 points and three podium finishes.
Uriarte is confident that he can adapt as quickly as possible to an unfamiliar track. The new leader of the Rookie of the Year ranking is on a strong run of his own: He came agonisingly close to breaking away in the front at the Catalan Grand Prix, ultimately finishing fourth, then secured victory in Italy after a thrilling final lap. A race winner in only his eleventh Moto3 World Championship race, he has also upped his performance in Qualifying at recent rounds: he secured his first front-row start in Barcelona and just missed out again in Italy (4th). Uriarte now sits fourth in the overall standings with 67 points, one more than his closest rival, with whom he is battling for the Rookie honour.
After an excellent Italian Grand Prix, Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 leapt up to second place in the Teams standings with 160 points, bringing them closer to the series leaders. The team will aim for a positive performance in Hungary, where last year Jose Antonio Rueda and Alvaro Carpe finished fifth and ninth, respectively, in the inaugural race at the new Balaton Park circuit.
The action at the #HungarianGP kicks off on Friday at 9:00 a.m. (local time) with Moto3 FP1. Sunday’s 20-lap race will start at 11 a.m.

#83 ALVARO CARPE
“With the results in Catalonia and Italy, we’ve managed to find some consistency, which is very important for us. We know there’s still a long way to go, but we’re on the right track. We have to keep working and be steady at every Grand Prix, and that’s what we want to do in Hungary. It’s a circuit we enjoyed last year, but we know we can do better there. It’s a new circuit, one that we all know little or nothing about, so it will be important to get off to a good start to break that initial parity as soon as possible.”
#51 BRIAN URIARTE
“We’ve achieved something that we really had to fight for, so now it’s time to try and keep it up. We’re coming off the toughest race of the season, because of how Moto3 races usually play out at Mugello, so now we have to see how we can go at a circuit we don’t know. I think I’ll like its characteristics and I’ll be able to adapt quickly, so we’re going to go all-out from the start. We have to keep our feet on the ground, but we have confidence, a lot of motivation, and an excellent team around me, so we’ll see what we can do in Hungary.”
