Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder head to the Czech GP looking to continue taking wins and podiums in Moto2. Oliveira is one of the title contenders already, while Binder is coming off his first win in the category.

The Moto2 World Championship returns to action after the summer break this weekend with the Czech Grand Prix. After two weeks without racing, Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 riders Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder come to Brno ready to continue reaping success in the intermediate class.

Miguel Oliveira faces the second half of the season with his eyes on the World Championship. The Portuguese is second in the overall standings, just seven points behind the leader, and hopes to further cut that gap at the Czech circuit this weekend. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider has already stepped onto the podium at Brno in Moto2, with third place last season.

Brad Binder is more motivated than ever after his first win in Moto2 at Sachsenring, which closed a first half of the season in which he took good results. In the second half of the campaign, the South African wants to put together a consistent run of podium finishes.

The Czech Grand Prix is the tenth round of 2018. The Moto2 race will take place on Sunday, August 5th at 12:20pm local time.

“This summer break has been good for us. We have had time to think about what happened in the first half of the season, which was very positive. I have used the time to rest and to train a little more, and I feel prepared to face the second half of the season. It is important that we take more victories and are always in the fight to get a podium or win, whilst continuing to take points at every race. Brno is a circuit that I really like; last year it went well for us and we were able to get on the podium. I hope we can have a good weekend and are able to start the second half of the season well.”

“After the race in Germany I returned home to South Africa, and after disconnecting and regrouping for a few days, I began to train hard again to prepare for the second half of the season. The victory at Sachsenring was very important for me; It makes me face the coming races more calmly and feeling more confident. I learned several things during the last Grand Prix and I will try to apply them in the next ten races. My main objective is to work thoroughly throughout the weekend; If we can do a good job on Friday and on Saturday, then on Sunday things will go well.”
