The Moto3 World Championship visits the Chang International Circuit for the first time, to start a run of four flyaway rounds.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider comes into the final stretch of the season this weekend with the first of four races outside of Europe, at Buriram. Unlike the MotoGP grid, which undertook a preseason test at the Thai track, the Moto3 competitors will have their first experience of the Chang International Circuit. Darryn Binder hopes to perform at his best again after a hard weekend in Aragon.

Awaiting him is a 4.5km track that consists of long straights, 5 left hand corners and 7 right handers, and he will have to work hard from the first practice session to learn the secrets of the circuit. Binder has been using his time since the previous round to study the characteristics of the Buriram track from home, with his intention being to fight for the Top 15 on Sunday.

The 22-lap Moto3 race will be the first World Championship race held at the Chang International Circuit, getting underway at 11am local time on Sunday.

“After the race weekend in Aragon we stayed on for a day of testing, where we were able to try things with this weekend in mind, despite less than optimal track conditions. In order to learn the characteristics of this track we’ve used two strategies: Firstly, playing the MotoGP game on the PlayStation, and secondly by watching the World Superbikes races at Buriram. The circuit seems easy enough to memorise and it seems to be quite nice. Although it is a new track, the idea is to continue with the same plan for our work. We will do our best to score points again.”
