Brad Binder and Jorge Martin complete a busy and successful day of official testing at the Catalan track.

Two days on from last weekend’s Catalan Grand Prix, Red Bull KTM Ajo returned to work on Tuesday to complete a fruitful day of post-race official testing. Moto2 riders Brad Binder and Jorge Martin were able to lower their times from the weekend, and provided valuable information about the bike.

Brad Binder had a busy day, devoting the 75 laps he put in to trying out several new parts of his bike. The South African rider had a pace of 1:43.8, quicker than his times during the Grand Prix. Binder improved his feeling with the bike and felt satisfied with the work done.

On the other side of the box, Jorge Martin completed an extensive testing programme over the course of 70 laps. The work was fruitful, as he found solutions to the small issues experienced in the race and felt comfortable. The Spaniard set lap times around the 1:44.6 mark and ended the day optimistic.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 team will test again tomorrow in Barcelona, before travelling to the Netherlands for the Dutch GP, which takes place from June 28th to 30th.

“I’m happy with how things went. We worked hard today on several different things. We were able to do some very interesting tests and my feeling with the bike was much better today. Our main goal was to make riding the bike easier and improve my ergonomics, and we achieved that. We have improved in terms of speed and acceleration. Without a doubt, we took a big step forward and I feel that we are working in the right direction. We need to keep this up in the future. There is still a lot of work to be done but we are going to try our best.”

“We did many laps today, but I’m happy with the work we’ve done. The parts that KTM have brought worked positively and, in addition, the team did a great job today. I felt comfortable on the bike from the start, as well as with the different modifications we tried. We found more rear grip and we can turn better, which were two of our main objectives. We have also taken a step forward in terms of acceleration. Tomorrow it will be time to confirm this feeling and leave for Assen as prepared as possible.”
