The Spaniard also becomes the first rider ever to achieve four podium finishes in his first four Grand Prix races. Masia places 21st despite a last-lap crash.

Red Bull KTM Ajo and Acosta made history again this Sunday, winning their third consecutive race at the Spanish GP. The rookie is the youngest to earn a trio of back-to-back victories, and also becomes the first rider to achieve four podium finishes in his first four World Championship starts. With this result, he extends his lead in the Moto3 standings. Teammate Masia had a tough day, as when fighting at the front another competitor knocked him to the ground. He would remount to finish 21st.

Acosta made a great start from the fifth row, in 13th place, gaining two spots on the opening lap. The Spaniard had to avoid an incident in front of him, which broke up the leading group. However, he catched them back up, and the rookie began to overtake several rivals with his strong pace. By Lap 5, he was up into the podium positions. After a highly contested final stage of the race, Acosta made a magnificent last lap pass, overcoming two other riders at the same time, to take the chequered flag first.

The Spanish GP started well for Masia, who managed to hold his position, 15th, when the lights went out. During the first half of the contest, the Spaniard was at the back of the leading group, staying calm and conserving his energy. After the halfway point of the race, he upped his pace and made a climb up the order, reaching the podium spots. On the last lap, when fighting for victory, a collision from another competitor saw both crash, with the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider getting back up to place 21st.

Acosta remains Moto3 World Championship leader with 95 points. Masia is 5th with 39. The Red Bull KTM Ajo duo will now enjoy a week off before traveling to Le Mans, where the French GP will take place from May 14-16th.
