Rueda and Zurutuza face Red Bull KTM Ajo’s home GP in Austria

14/08/2024

The Moto3 duo will compete in the eleventh round of the season. Red Bull KTM Ajo have a very important event this weekend, as the Austrian GP is the home round for KTM. Both Jose Antonio Rueda and Xabi Zurutuza are ready to give their all for positive results.

Rueda’s British GP ended with a disappointing race, but the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider completed a solid test last week in Aragon that has given him even clearer ideas and a defined strategy to get the best out of his bike. Rueda was eleventh last season in Austria, and on this occasion he wants to be one of the men to beat in the class. With 65 points, he is eighth in the overall standings.

Zurutuza has another unfamiliar circuit with which to contend. The Red Bull Ring is one of the fastest circuits on the calendar, and its uneven terrain puts every competitor to the test. The Moto3 rookie was not able to finish the race at Silverstone two weeks ago due to a crash, but he is using it as a learning experience for the upcoming races. Zurutuza is 22nd in the overall standings with 3 points.

Red Bull KTM Ajo are seventh in the team standings with 71 points, and in 2023 Deniz Öncü took victory for them at the Red Bull Ring. The Moto3 Austrian Grand Prix will take place on Sunday at 11:00 am local time.

#99 JOSE ANTONIO RUEDA

“We arrive in Austria after Silverstone, where we didn’t do so well. This is a circuit that I like and where we can do a good job. After the Aragon test I feel that I have more confidence in every sense, both with the bike and in myself. It’s also the home of KTM, so it’s time to push hard and get a good result. We’ll see if we can fight a bit more at the front in the race and -why not?- fight for the victory.”

#85 XABI ZURUTUZA

“I’m really looking forward to getting to Austria, as I was left with a bittersweet taste in my mouth after crashing in the race at Silverstone. We’re once again facing another new circuit, completely different from the previous one, but I’m looking forward to getting there and continuing my work with the team to do our best on track.”
