Rueda and Zurutuza focused on Aragon Grand Prix
28/08/2024The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 duo want to fight for a great result in front of their home fans.
After an intense Austrian Grand Prix, Red Bull KTM Ajo now turn their attention to the next round on the calendar. The renovated MotorLand Aragon circuit is a favourable track for Jose Antonio Rueda and Xabi Zurutuza, who hope to be competitive from the start at the Aragon Grand Prix.
It is one of Rueda’s favourite circuits on the calendar, where he enjoyed a productive test two weeks ago. In Austria a fortnight ago, the Spanish rider completed a solid weekend, although in the race he would finish seventh. This will be the first time that Rueda competes at MotorLand Aragon, although he feels confident of a return to the podium. With 74 points, he is eighth in the overall standings.
Zurutuza earned his best result in qualifying at the Red Bull Ring, but placed outside the points in the race, on a bittersweet weekend following all the progress made. The rookie wants to turn things around at one of the few circuits on the calendar that he knows well. Zurutuza is 22nd in the overall standings with 3 points.
Red Bull KTM Ajo are seventh in the Team standings with 80 points. At this week’s venue, they have third places through Raul Fernandez and Kaito Toba in 2020, and with Daniel Holgado in 2022. The 2024 Aragon Grand Prix race will be a 17-lap race, starting at 11:00 am local time on Sunday.

“I am very happy to be back racing at Aragon, as I have very good memories of there and I hope they can be repeated. After the test we did at MotorLand we have regained our confidence and it is helping us a lot. This is a circuit that suits me, so I think we can do very well. We will give it our best and fight to get back to the top and stay there.”#85 XABI ZURUTUZA
“I’m really looking forward to it, as I’ve had some good results in Aragón. We want to continue working in the same way as we did in the test and the last race to keep improving. We’ve made progress, so now it’s time to consolidate the step forward we made in Austria to continue improving the results and get further up the standings.”
