Rueda and Zurutuza in search of success in Thailand

23/10/2024

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 riders want to get back to a good feeling in Buriram.

After a difficult Australian Grand Prix, where the conditions put all the riders to the test, Jose Antonio Rueda and Xabi Zurutuza take on the next round on the Moto3 calendar. The Chang International Circuit hosts the penultimate round of the flyaways this weekend.

Rueda completed the race in Australia with a good feeling, although the changing conditions throughout the weekend made work difficult in each session. The Spaniard tried to get closer to the leading riders and stay in the Top10, although he was out of contention for the podium and crossed the line in ninth position. Rueda arrives in Thailand with a lot of desire to place further up the order, and with 128 points he is eighth overall.

Zurutuza had a tough weekend, after starting the Australian Grand Prix with several crashes. The Moto3 rider suffered more falls in the race, while trying to make up positions to get into the points. Zurutuza crossed the line in 17th, and this weekend he faces an unfamiliar circuit that will again test his potential. With 11 points, he is 22nd in the standings.

Red Bull KTM Ajo currently occupies seventh position in the Teams competition, with 172 points. The Moto3 race will take place on Sunday at the Chang International Circuit, from 12:00 PM local time.

#99 JOSE ANTONIO RUEDA

“We’re coming to the Thai circuit, where we didn’t do so well last year. After the results and the good feeling with the bike in these last few weeks, I think we can do well. I feel quite happy with the team and the bike, and confident about my chances. I’m really looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully there is good weather and everything goes well.”

#85 XABI ZURUTUZA

“It’s already race week at the Thailand GP. I’m really looking forward to this new circuit, as getting to know new tracks is always great and I like it. I’m really looking forward to starting work with the team and trying to stick to the same plan. We want to improve with each outing on track. We have very clear objectives and I really want to do well.”
