MalaysianGP: Red Bull KTM Ajo’s final flyaway

30/10/2024

Jose Antoino Rueda and Xabi Zurutuza arrive in Sepang for the penultimate race of the season.

The Sepang International Circuit is ready for the nineteenth round of the 2024 Moto3 season. The Red Bull KTM Ajo riders end an intense series of rounds in Malaysia after a bittersweet conclusion to the last Grand Prix in Thailand -where both were just outside the points.

Jose Antonio Rueda wants to turn things around after his struggles in Buriram, where the race was reduced to 12 laps and weather conditions affected the contest. The 19-year-old is fully focused on what he has to improve in the closing rounds of the season. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider failed to finish at Sepang last year, leaving him with unfinished business at the circuit. With 128 points, he is eighth in the overall standings.

Xabi Zurutuza has had to work hard to adapt to the changing and demanding conditions of the circuits in Asia and Oceania. Malaysia will be the final challenge oversees for the young Spaniard, before the action returns to Europe. After a difficult weekend in Thailand, Zurutuza wants to fight for better results this weekend and return to the points. He currently has 11 and is 22nd overall.

Red Bull KTM Ajo are seventh in the Teams standings and have 142 points. The 15-lap Moto3 MalaysianGP will be held this Sunday at 12:00pm local time.

#99 JOSE ANTONIO RUEDA

“We are coming to Malaysia, a circuit that I really like. I hope that the weather conditions are better than last weekend in Thailand and that we can do well. I think it is a circuit that suits us, so we will give our all to be able to adapt, get a good pace and earn good results.”

#85 XABI ZURUTUZA

“We are coming to the last race of the flyaways. It has been a very intense few weeks in which we have to work hard to adapt. We know where to improve after a difficult weekend in Thailand, and Malaysia is another new circuit for me, so we will try to get a good result and will give it our all from Friday.”
