Rueda renews and Carpe to debut with Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 team
07/11/2024Jose Antonio Rueda will face his third year focused on the title, while Carpe will make the jump to the Moto3 World Championship in 2025.
Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 trusts again in Jose Antonio Rueda and bets on the Spanish rider to fight for the title of the Moto3 category, who will complete his third consecutive season with the team after consolidating his progress in 2024. Alvaro Carpe will make the step up to World Championship level after winning Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and being the title favourite in the FIM JuniorGP World Championship. In this way, the team brings together talent, youth and ambition in their Moto3 lineup for next season.
In his third year in the Moto3 class, Rueda will have all the experience gained in previous years. After a mixed campaign hindered by an early injury in 2024, Rueda has fought to get good results. After taking his first win at the Aragon Grand Prix, he has now accumulated 4 podiums in Moto3 and fought for the top positions on numerous occasions. For next year, he and the team hope to challenge for the title.
On the other side of the box will be Alvaro Carpe, who in contrast will be one of the youngest riders in Moto3. The Spaniard, born in 2007, has been one of the standouts in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, where he has already been crowned champion, and in the FIM Junior GP World Championship, where he is the current leader. Carpe’s precocious talent and determination has allowed him to accumulate great results, with 6 victories and 8 podiums across these two competitions. In addition, Alvaro Carpe will make his official debut in the Moto3 World Championship next week, participating as a wildcard with Red Bull KTM Ajo at the Grand Prix of Barcelona.
Red Bull KTM Ajo are proud to have this duo onboard for next year and will work with them to achieve top results. The structure maintains a commitment to investing in the training and development of young riders within the KTM Academy.
Aki Ajo – Team Principal:
“I am very happy to continue having Jose Antonio Rueda in our team and we wanted to continue to bet firmly on him. After two seasons together we have learned a lot and he has achieved good results, including his first victory in the championship. He is a fast rider with a lot of talent and we believe that next season will be a new opportunity to be in the top positions together. This year he has shown what he is capable of, he has improved a lot and I firmly believe he can continue to do so in the future. In addition, Alvaro Carpe has shown his potential, speed, and also his maturity during the races. Having the reigning Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup winner was the clear choice for us. In the last few years he has achieved many podiums and wins. One of the things I like most about him is his hard work and dedication to reaching his targets. I believe that he will form a great team together with Jose Antonio. They can learn a lot from each other, and I am confident that together we can achieve great things. Of course, Alvaro was also the right choice by the successful KTM Academy program, of which we are proud to be a part -and with which we continue to work to get the maximum potential out of the riders.”Jose Antonio Rueda:
“I’m very happy to be able to continue here for another year with Red Bull KTM Ajo in the Moto3 World Championship. Our goal is to fight for the title again, it’s something we always have to aim for. It will be a new opportunity to fight for what we want the most and we will do our best together to achieve it. I also want to thank Aki, KTM and Red Bull for trusting me for the third year in a row. We will finish this year the best we can and we will face 2025 with the maximum motivation.”Alvaro Carpe:
“Signing with this great team means a lot to me, as they are one of the best teams on the grid. I am increasingly assimilating the level I have reached this year and everything we have shown in both the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and JuniorGP. I’m very happy and excited about starting the season and the first race in Thailand. I’m facing my rookie year with great enthusiasm, training hard and always giving 100%. I am also very excited about my debut as a wildcard. It has been a dream since I was little, and also racing with this great team, with all their history, makes me even prouder.”
