Red Bull KTM Ajo off to Argentina
15/04/2015Brad Binder, Karel Hanika and Miguel Oliveira travel to Argentina this week for second event at Termas de Rio Hondo.
Just days after the second race of the season in Austin, the Red Bull KTM Ajo team face the South American challenge of the Red Bull Grand Prix of Argentina. After improving their results from the first race, Brad Binder and Karel Hanika will try to take the steps forward required to get onto the podium. Meanwhile, Miguel Oliveira is out to complete the race and score his first points of the season -doing justice to the great level he has shown so far in practice sessions.
The fifth position for Brad Binder and tenth for Karel Hanika in Austin allows them to continue on their best starts to a World Championship campaign to date. Nevertheless, both they and Miguel Oliveira are hungry for more, and that begins with the visit to the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit. Last year, in the first Moto3 race held in Argentina, only Binder managed to cross the finish line (in fourteenth).
Oliveira has been out of luck at the opening two rounds, despite having been one of the candidates for victory in both Qatar and Texas. He is waiting to put his first points on the board, but the Portuguese has complete confidence in his bike and team to take the position he deserves this weekend.
The second Red Bull Grand Prix of Argentina in Termas de Rio Hondo will begin on Friday with free practice. The race takes place on Sunday at 1pm local time. In the first edition of the event, the Red Bull KTM Ajo team took pole position and third in the race.

Miguel Oliveira,
“I have my mind set on Argentina. We go to Termas de Rio Hondo motivated and the result from Austin has already been forgotten. We must not think about it and instead focus on further improving my feeling with the setup of the bike. I believe fully in the team and they are doing a great job. After the disappointment in Austin, where we should have been able to get a very good result, we need to score points this weekend and keep fighting. The great results will come, for sure.”
Brad Binder,
“We arrive in Argentina in quite good shape. It is true that in the last two races, the results have not been as good as we would have liked, but at least we have put important points on the board. The Termas de Rio Hondo circuit is a track that I really like and I think it suits the KTM very well. We will fight and work hard to at least get on the podium.”
Karel Hanika,
“Of course I’m very happy to return once again to Argentina, because the circuit is very nice. Last year was the first time we rode there, but we had a good feeling right from the first laps we did. Although last season the race was not the best for us -we didn’t finish- I have good memories of practice. We were quite strong and I felt comfortable with both my riding and the setup. Last year we were unlucky, so I hope to continue from where we left off in Austin and improve the result, riding in the front group and fighting for the top positions.”
