Finnish rider concludes three positive days of testing at the Jerez Circuit – Angel Nieto, going second fastest overall.

The Ajo MotoE Team started its journey in the FIM MotoE World Cup in a positive way this weekend, with three days of testing at the Jerez Circuit – Angel Nieto. Niki Tuuli was second fastest overall in the first official test for the new class, having topped the timesheets on Friday.

Continuing on from Friday’s positive work, Tuuli showed his pace on Saturday, ending the day as the second fastest rider overall with a 1:50.627 lap. The second day of the test was hindered by the appearance of rain in the early afternoon. As a result, Tuuli only undertook a total of 39 laps.

On Sunday, the rain again made an appearance, first thing in the morning. Despite the conditions, Tuuli had an interesting day in which he was able to continue gaining experience and working on the setup of his bike. That allowed the Finn to clock the thirteenth fastest time, going second in the combined timesheets.

The Ajo MotoE team will be back on track in 2019, in another test at the Jerez Circuit – Angel Nieto on March 12th-14th.

“We’ve had a good first test, even though we have only had two dry sessions and the others in mixed conditions. The first time I rode with this bike on Friday, I was pleasantly surprised at how fast it was and the feeling I had when riding it. We tried many things during the dry sessions and we were able to improve our time whenever we went out, which is very positive. We were very consistent and I was able to set my best time for several consecutive laps, as well as the second top time. In the final sessions the weather wasn’t ideal, but even so we have been able to try things out. I’m looking forward to the next test to continue improving.”
