Niki Tuuli heads to Germany this week for first ever race of the newborn championship, at the Sachsenring circuit.

The wait is finally over. The first ever season of the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup kicks off this week at the Sachsenring circuit, in Germany, alongside the ninth round of the MotoGP World Championship. The Ajo MotoE Team and their rider Niki Tuuli are all set for the start of this new adventure, following the positive results they achieved during the preseason.

The Finnish youngster has quickly adapted to the machinery of the new championship. After his good feelings in testing, Tuuli notched up a fantastic third position in the MotoE Race Simulation, which took place at the last preseason event in Valencia. In addition, the Ajo MotoE Team rider took the best time of the entire week’s practice sessions. Niki now heads for a track he already knows from riding there in 2018.

The first race in the history of the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup will be held on Sunday, July 7th at 10:00 am local time, with the riders eager to complete a total of 8 thrilling laps at the Sachsenring circuit.

“I’m really pleased that the start of the first season of the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup is finally here. After the satisfactory results we had in the Valencia test, we go to Germany with a solid base. However, we know we’ll have to work hard to keep the good feeling from preseason going. The objective for this race is to be on the podium, given that we achieved third place in the MotoE Race Simulation. We will push to stay at the same level at Sachsenring. I’m very happy because the team have been working really hard. We’ll continue giving our all and, mainly, we’ll enjoy this new adventure together. I came to this circuit last year, but I only did two practice sessions due to an injury. It’s a very nice venue, though at the same time it’s pretty challenging, but anyway I am looking forward to taking on this track again.”
