Good feeling for Lucas Mahias on his debut with the Ajo MotoE Team

The French rider finished 12th on Thursday in the FP1 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, the last round of the FIM MotoE World Championship. 

The final round of the 2019 MotoE World Cup got underway on Thursday, with the Ajo MotoE Team and Lucas Mahias undertaking their first free practice of the weekend at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit. The French rider, who replaces the injured Niki Tuuli this weekend, was 12th best on his first day as an Ajo MotoE Team rider.

In a session which took place in cold temperatures at the Valencian track, Lucas Mahias was one of the most active riders on track, stepping up his adaptation to the MotoE bike, in preparation for the two races this weekend. The French rider, who completed a long run of ten laps in without stopping, progressively reduced his lap times, to finish 12th with a best lap of 1:43.071.

Tomorrow, Mahias will take part in another free practice session at 11:50 am local time, before the E-Pole at 4:15 pm.

“The feeling was good. On the first run, in very cold conditions I was a bit more cautious on these tyres, as I haven’t ridden on them before. It’s only the first day and I enjoyed it very much. Now we need to work with the mechanics to try to understand more the bike tomorrow.”
