Avant Ajo MotoE rider Niki Tuuli underwent surgery on his right wrist on Tuesday in Barcelona. The Finn had suffered a fracture in a crash during FP2 of Round 2 of the FIM MotoE World Cup series at Jerez last Friday. The incident occurred after a promising FP1 session, and brought his involvement in the round to an end.

Carrying out the operation was Dr. Xavier Mir, Head of the Hand, Elbow and Microsurgery Unit of the Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery Department at the Hospital Universitari Dexeus, along with his surgery team.

The procedure on Tuuli’s injured right distal radius involved an open reduction and the insertion of a compression plate for internal fixation. The Avant Ajo MotoE rider remained in hospital for 24 hours before being discharged, and will begin rehabilitation in a week.
