Productive track time for Avant Ajo MotoE and Niki Tuuli

15/07/2020

The Finnish rider enjoyed a day of testing at the Jerez-Angel Nieto Circuit with the team’s electric bike.

The Avant Ajo MotoE and Niki Tuuli made their long-awaited return to action at Jerez today, with a single-day test at the Spanish track. The Finn enjoyed three training sessions of 30 minutes each in duration. Both the team and the rider were very satisfied with the work done in what was a productive Wednesday.

Niki Tuuli made steady progress throughout the three sessions, lowering his lap times on each stint. The 24-year-old rider dedicated his 23 laps to getting back his feel for the Avant Ajo MotoE bike, whilst at the same time working on his setup for Sunday’s race. At the end of the day, the Finn was 10th on the combined timesheet, thanks to his 1:49.968 lap.

Niki Tuuli and the Avant Ajo MotoE team will be back at Jerez on Friday, for Free Practice for Round 1 of the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup season.

“The bike worked very well today and, without a doubt, it was special to meet up with the whole team again. However, it was a difficult day, since the first time you get on this bike after so long it is tough. In the first session I did not have much feeling with the front, but as the day went by I regained confidence. On Friday we will continue working hard to find a good setup that allows us to challenge for a strong result.”
