The FIM MotoE World Cup returns to action this weekend with Round 4 of the 2022 season. The fledgling series holds its next round alongside the longest-running Grand Prix event in history – the Dutch GP – as the competition hits Assen for a double header event. One race on Saturday and another on Sunday await Avant Ajo MotoE rider Hikari Okubo, at one of his favourite tracks.

At the last round of the FIM MotoE World Cup, held in Italy, Okubo placed amongst the points in Race 1 with an 11th position. However, in the Sunday contest the Japanese rider suffered a heavy crash that prevented him from finishing. Now he arrives in Assen wanting to make amends and fight for another good result. Okubo has had good performances in the past in the Netherlands, only increasing his motivation for the task ahead. He occupies seventh in the overall standings with 52 points.

The first race of the weekend for the FIM MotoE World Cup will take place on Saturday at 4:25 PM local time, with the second on Sunday at 3:30 PM. Both will be held over 8 laps.

“After a big crash at the last round in Italy, I went back to Japan and took some rest. Now I feel fit again. I’m totally focused on the next round at Assen, a circuit I like a lot. It’s one of my favourite tracks and I know it well. My target for this weekend is to fight for a good position and for a podium, if possible. It’ll be very important to pick up as many points as possible, with the title chase in mind. I’ll give my best and push hard to achieve our goal.”
