Niki Tuuli completes two positive Free Practice sessions, placing seventh overall on Friday.

Avant Ajo MotoE and Niki Tuuli used all of the knowledge gained during Wednesday’s test to continue progressing on Friday, on the opening day of the Spanish Grand Prix. The Finnish rider improved his feeling on board his bike and regained confidence, in addition to placing seventh overall for FP1 and FP2.

Niki Tuuli showed great improvement in the morning session, going faster than at the test on his opening outing on track. The Avant Ajo MotoE rider dedicated his nine laps to fine-tuning his electric bike, and ended FP1 in seventh with a 1:49.019 time.

In the afternoon, Tuuli continued to focus on taking steps forward, despite the intense heat that inevitably hindered the team’s work. After completing a total of nine laps, he finished FP2 in 9th place, with a best time of 1:49.950.

Tomorrow morning the Avant Ajo MotoE rider will undertake a final Free Practice session to decide the starting order for E-Pole – which takes place at 4:05 pm local time.

“Today was much better compared to Wednesday. In the morning session my feeling with the bike was good. In addition, we found a setup that allowed me to regain the confidence I had last year. This afternoon, we tried to make more changes, but we did not have any new tyres left and, with it being so hot, it was difficult to ride with used ones. However, I am happy with the result that we got today and I hope that we continue to progress tomorrow.”
