Pedro Acosta sets the best time, with Albert Arenas in eighth place.

Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 duo completed the second day of the Moto2 Official Test this Saturday at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve. Reduced activity on track due to the weather conditions forced the riders to try to make the most of the second half of the day. Pedro Acosta set the fastest time of the day, while Albert Arenas finished in eighth position.

Acosta continued with the testing plan, despite sitting out the two morning sessions held on a wet track. Of the three sessions scheduled on Saturday, he only participated in the last one. The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 rider quickly got comfortable and improved his lap times steadily. After completing 29 laps, he finished the day leading the standings with a 1:42.234.

Arenas also took part in only the third and last session in the afternoon. The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 worked with the team in search of a good feeling, despite strong winds blowing across the Portuguese circuit, and is getting more and more comfortable with his KTM. After entering the Top 10, he was eighth thanks to his 1:43.901, after having completed 26 laps.

Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 Team will face the third and final day of the Official Test on Sunday at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve.

“We haven’t ridden much but we had clear ideas. We knew what to test and we went straight to that. Today’s work was positive. We still have to go a step further tomorrow and keep testing things. The team have worked very hard this winter to get good results in testing and we have to keep it up.”

#75 ALBERT ARENAS

“It’s been a shorter day than normal, but the laps that we did went well. We made the most of that track time and tried out new things. We have to keep working on these things, we know they have potential and tomorrow we’ll keep riding to confirm it. We lacked a little something to set the fastest lap and put all the work together. I think that if we continue like this we can do well. The objective is to finish the Portimao test in the best way tomorrow and be ready for the first race.”
