Darryn Binder returns at Czech GP

01/08/2018

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 rider, who has recovered from a fracture to his right collarbone, looks to start the second half of the Moto3 season well.

The Moto3 World Championship returns this weekend, and Darryn Binder is also making a comeback. The South African rider, who missed the race at Sachsenring due to a fracture to his right clavicle suffered in training, returns to action for the tenth round of the year, which will be held at Brno in the Czech Republic.

For Binder, this weekend will be a way to start from scratch and pick up his positive run of results again. He has scored points in four of his last five races, including a Top 10 in Assen. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider faces an Automotodrom Brno where he has competed twice in the past (2015 and 2016), although in 2017 he was unable to ride due to a fracture to his right thumb.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 team have one victory (2013) and two further podiums (2012 and 2015) at the Czech GP. The Moto3 race will take place on Sunday at 11am local time.

“I’m very happy to be returning to action this weekend at Brno. I feel good after the injury and the summer break has been good for me to recharge my batteries; I’m ready to fight again. During these few weeks off I have been to South Africa, where I first had a few days of relaxation to finish recovering and then started training normally. It has also been good for me to spend time with my family and friends -the nice part of going home. Last year I missed Brno through injury, so I can’t wait for the weekend, since it’s a circuit that I like very much.”
