After a British Grand Prix somewhat hampered by their fitness, the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 pair come into the Aragon GP in better condition.

Collin Veijer and Jose Antonio Rueda arrive at MotorLand Aragon aiming to regain their best form, which took a hit after undergoing respective surgeries following the first summer break. With their recovery well underway and close to 100%, the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 pair want to be competitive this weekend, at a track where the team took victory last year with Deniz Öncü.

Veijer will be riding at MotorLand for the first time on a Moto2 bike, in a situation mimicking what happened at the British Grand Prix. He missed both of these races in 2025 through injury. However, he does have fond memories of the Spanish tracks from previous seasons in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, JuniorGP, and Moto3. With wins in the two feeder series, he also placed second there in his second Moto3 season. After an unfortunate incident at Silverstone during the first lap of the race, in which the Dutchman was collided by a rival and had to retire, he currently sits tenth in the overall standings with 55.5 points.

Rueda comes to one of his favourite circuits, where he claimed his first Moto3 victory in 2024. Having taken a significant step forward in the last eight races, he couldn’t quite cap off a positive weekend at Silverstone with a strong Sunday. Struggling to reach peak performance at the British Grand Prix as his right hand continued to recover, he will now be able to face the Aragon Grand Prix at virtually 100%. With podium finishes and victories in other classes and a win there in 2024, Rueda arrives at MotorLand confident he can quickly adapt. With 27 points, he is 16th in the overall standings and leads the rookies standings in the intermediate class.

On 82.5 points, Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 team occupy seventh place in the Team standings. In Aragon, they have achieved five victories and five podium finishes after ten appearances there in Moto2, with the wins belonging to Brad Binder (2018 and 2019), Raul Fernandez (2021), Pedro Acosta (2022), and Deniz Öncü (2025). Also on the rostrum were Miguel Oliveira (3rd – 2017), Jorge Martin (3rd – 2020), Remy Gardner (2nd – 2021), Augusto Fernandez (3rd – 2023), and Öncü (3rd – 2024).

Moto2 Free Practice 1 starts at 9:50 a.m. (local time) on Friday. Sunday’s 19-lap race will begin at 12:15 p.m.

“I’m happy to be back in a race week. We’ve been very busy with training and enjoying some other events, so I’m ready to keep this rhythm up for the next few days. We want to show our full potential on track, so we will try to start strong from the first session on Friday. I’m fully recovered and in good shape, so we want to give a good account of ourselves throughout the three days. We’ll see if we can have a little bit more luck on Sunday and enjoy the race from the beginning to the end.”

“I’m really looking forward to getting back on track after this two-week break. MotorLand is a circuit I have great memories of, as I achieved my first Grand Prix victory there, so we’re approaching it with extra motivation, which is always welcome. This time the challenge will be a bit greater, as it’s our first time with the Moto2 bike there and it’s not an easy track for that, but I’m convinced we can enjoy it. The goal is to continue our work and get back to 100%, which is the most important thing.”
