Rueda and Carpe arrive at Le Mans confident of extending their podium streak

After the victory in Jerez, Red Bull KTM Ajo will defend all Moto3 class leads in France.

The historic Bugatti circuit at Le Mans hosts the sixth round of the Moto3 World Championship season. Red Bull KTM Ajo come into the event in rude health: Top of the Rider, Team and Rookie of the Year standings, and with Jose Antonio Rueda having been victorious in Jerez last time out. Alvaro Carpe will ride at another familiar track this weekend, where he has already been on the podium in other competitions.

After a stellar Spanish Grand Prix, in which he won from Pole Position and also set the fastest lap of the race, Rueda visits France as leader of the Moto3 class. His season so far has seen him claim three wins and a third place in five races, Rueda arrives at Le Mans convinced of being able to extend the good start of 2025. His previous results at Le Mans are ninth and eighth place in 2023 and 2024, respectively, although in 2024 he was able to qualify on the front row.

For Carpe, the visit to Le Mans means the second consecutive track at which he has previous experience. After a full and exciting weekend for him at Jerez, the young Red Bull KTM Ajo rider is looking to make further strides in the overall standings, as well as in the rookies’ one, where he continues being the leader after an eighth place finish in the Spanish Grand Prix. Whilst this is his first time at the French track in the Moto3 World Championship, he has been there in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, where last year he took third place and also achieved fifth and sixth place finishes in 2023 and 2024.

So far in 2025, Red Bull KTM Ajo have three wins, a second place, and a third to their name. The team have taken two wins at Le Mans in the last ten seasons, with Brad Binder in 2016 and Jaume Masia in 2022. The action at the Bugatti Le Mans track kicks off next Friday from 9:00 (local time) with the first Moto3 Free Practice.

#99 JOSE ANTONIO RUEDA

“We’re coming into the French Grand Prix eager to defend our lead in the series. I haven’t had easy weekends on my two previous visits, but it’s a track I like, so we’re confident of achieving good results if we continue the work we’ve been doing since preseason. We want to enjoy it and avoid putting too much pressure on ourselves, so we’ll take things day by day to try to achieve my best result so far at Le Mans.”

#83 ALVARO CARPE

“We’re very motivated for Le Mans, a track I’m already familiar with. Let’s hope the weather holds out, as it’s a circuit that often sees some rain. I think it’s a track I can do well at. I like short, twisty circuits, so we’ll have to keep working the same way we have so far to benefit from that. We still need to improve in the final stretch of the races, as we’ve struggled a lot with tyre wear, so we’ll focus on working on that aspect.”
