Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 travel to France for fifth round of the season

06/05/2026

After a productive test in Jerez, Carpe and Uriarte head to Le Mans confident of further steps forward.

Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 face the second European round of the season this weekend, moving on from Spain to the French Grand Prix at Le Mans. Alvaro Carpe and Brian Uriarte begin another double-header -which will conclude next week in Catalonia. The two Spanish riders, after a successful test last Tuesday in Jerez, aim for a result that will give them even more motivation to tackle the next rounds: seven in the following ten weeks.

For Carpe, this is an important weekend in his consistent pursuit of the Moto3 World Championship leader. On a run of eight consecutive Grand Prix finishes in the Top 5, he aims to continue his consistent form with another podium. He placed fifth in the Spanish Grand Prix, and was second in the test held at the track after the race. With 76 laps under his belt from the test, Carpe has worked on finding extra speed for the upcoming rounds. Last year at the French Grand Prix, he finished fourth on race day, and he also has podium finishes at Le Mans in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, which helps to increase his confidence in the French track. Carpe currently sits second in the Moto3 standings with 53 points.

For Uriarte, the intention is to have a good weekend at one of his favourite tracks on the calendar. He had a great weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix, despite finishing eleventh, and also managed to get very positive results from the test, completing 95 laps and placing third fastest. Le Mans is a circuit that suits the Spaniard, who has achieved two victories on his two visits there as a Red Bull Rookies Cup rider. Making steady progress in his adaptation to Moto3, he has finished all eight races he has contested so far, six of them inside the points. With 28 points to his name, he is ninth in the overall standings and third in the Rookie of the Year ranking.

Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 are third in the Team standings with 81 points, and have great recent memories of Le Mans: All of the team’s podium finishes have been victories there, through Jose Antonio Rueda in 2025, Jaume Masia in 2022 and Brad Binder in 2016.

The French Grand Prix will kick off this Friday at 9.00 a.m. (local time). Sunday’s 20-lap race will start at 11.00 a.m.

#83 ALVARO CARPE

“We arrive in France after a very productive test in Jerez last week. We tried a lot of things there, some more useful than others, but I think we were able to take a solid step forward, so we’ll have to put it into practice this weekend at Le Mans. I’m happy with the work we’ve been doing, so we’re going to give it our all to continue getting important results that will give us more confidence for the rest of the European rounds in the coming months.”

#51 BRIAN URIARTE

“Le Mans is a good opportunity to continue making progress in our adaptation to the class. At Jerez, I think we had a very complete weekend, and then during the test we completed almost 100 laps, which helped us understand many things for the future. The French GP is one of the races I have circled on the calendar, as it’s one of my favourites and at a place where I achieved my first victory in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. I hope to be a little closer to the front and fully enjoy riding in front of the fans there, as they are always fantastic.”
