Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 aim for third consecutive win on visit to Silverstone

21/05/2025

After victories at Jerez and Le Mans, Rueda and Carpe head to the British Grand Prix confident to achieve a great result.

The Moto3 World Championship moves on to Silverstone this weekend, for the British Grand Prix at one of the oldest tracks of the international scene. Red Bull KTM Ajo come into the round in strong form, top of both the Rider and Teams standings in the class. Jose Antonio Rueda, after an excellent Sunday in Le Mans, wants to continue consolidating his leadership with regularity and good points, while Alvaro Carpe, who does not know the British track, will try to extend his good form after the great comeback made during the French Grand Prix.

Rueda arrives at the #BritishGP in a perfect form and as a series leader with a 29-point advantage, thanks to four wins and five podiums from the opening six races of the season. In the most recent round of the 2025 campaign, he overcame difficult circumstances at the French Grand Prix to take another fantastic triumph. Rueda has achieved eighth and ninth positions on his two previous visits to Silverstone in 2023 and 2024, and in both years he fought for the podium until the final lap, taking the chequered flag just a second behind the race winner.

Although he had prior experience at the first two European rounds of the season, Alvaro Carpe now goes back to having to adapt to an unfamiliar track to him. He has proven able to get to grips quickly with new tracks, as evidenced by his results from the first four Grands Prix. At the recent French Grand Prix, he moved up from 13th on the grid to fourth, finishing close to the podium spots and setting his first fastest lap of the race. He remains the leader of the Rookie of the Year standings, 36 points ahead of his nearest rival. In the Rider standings itself, he is currently sixth.

Once again, the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto3 team faces a new race weekend as leader of all three standings, including the teams one. Red Bull KTM Ajo’s memories at Silverstone includes a win at the British Grand Prix in 2016 for Brad Binder, when Bo Bendsneyder joined him on the podium in third place. The team’s most recent rostrum there was achieved by Jaume Masia, with his second place in 2022. Activity at Silverstone will begin on Friday at 10:00 (local time). The 15-lap Moto3 race will take place on Sunday at 2.30 p.m.

#99 JOSE ANTONIO RUEDA
“We’re arriving at Silverstone, the longest circuit in the World Championship. It’s a special Grand Prix, where it’s difficult to be competitive over a single lap because you have to be very precise when going through many corners. Last year we did well there, although we lacked a bit of inspiration to fight on the last lap, so we’ll try to pick up where we left off to find that extra spark. As always, we have to work in the same way we’ve done in this first part of the season and hope for good weather. The weather is especially important this weekend, as it’s usually very cold at Silverstone.”

#83 ALVARO CARPE

“I know Silverstone is one of the longest and toughest tracks on the calendar, but we’re coming into this one very motivated after the work we put in over the three days at Le Mans. I also think we’ve made a qualitative leap in our race preparation during practice sessions, as well as with my fitness level, so I think that if we keep working like this, we’ll do well at the British GP. I’m looking forward to getting there and adapting as quickly as possible to what is a new circuit for me.”
