Czech Grand Prix kicks off another European double-header for Red Bull KTM Ajo
17/06/2026Carpe and Uriarte will try to extend the team’s podium streak when they head to Brno.
Alvaro Carpe and Brian Uriarte travel to the Automotodrom Brno this weekend for the Czech Grand Prix, with Red Bull KTM Ajo having taken the podium at the last three Grands Prix. The event follows rostrums for the team in Catalonia, Italy, and Hungary. Now, with the Czech Republic on the horizon and fond memories of last year, the team is hoping to leave the Czech track with a great result that will further consolidate their second place in the team standings.
Carpe lies in second place in the Moto3 World Championship, and is on a three-round podium streak of his own. Alvaro, determined to find soon his maiden win, is keen to put in a strong performance at the CzechGP. It will not be easy, as he only visited Brno last year, when he managed a 12th place finish after qualifying 14th on the grid in his rookie campaign. Much like he did in Hungary, the Spaniard will attempt to have a smoother weekend at a circuit he found tricky in 2025. With 111 points, he has a 34 point advantage over the rider in third place in the overall standings, and remains a title contender heading into Round 9 of the season.
Uriarte is unfamiliar with Brno, but has had some recent success to boost his confidence. With his win at the Italian Grand Prix, he established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the series, and is now just 5 points off third place, in fifth in the overall standings. As he did in Hungary, he will have to learn the long Brno circuit on Friday at the Czech Grand Prix, in order to qualify high up the grid on Saturday despite not knowing the layout. Uriarte’s 72 points put him top of the Rookie of the Year ranking by a single point.
Red Bull KTM Ajo are in a solid second place in the Team standings with 183 points. They also have fond recent memories of Brno, where last year Jose Antonio Rueda secured a masterful solo victory, finishing more than three seconds ahead of his closest rival. Brad Binder also achieved a third-place finish there for the team in 2015.
The action at the Czech Grand Prix gets underway this Friday at 9 a.m. (local time) with Moto3 Free Practice 1. The Moto3 race will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

#83 ALVARO CARPE
“We’re heading to Brno with renewed energy and a lot of confidence in ourselves and the whole team. The idea for the Czech Republic is to take a step forward in terms of our methodology over the weekend. We need to be more complete and consistent during the first two days, in order to be strong in Qualifying and closer to the head of the grid. Anything we can get done before the race will be a bonus, so we’re going to go for that and will try to get a good result in the race.”
#51 BRIAN URIARTE
“Brno is a circuit I’ve heard great things about, and I’ve really liked it when I’ve played it on video games. It’s a long circuit, but also fast and with a lot of elevation changes, so I think it has a profile I’ll really enjoy. We’re ready to give 100% and eager to gradually improve with each session, just like we did at the previous circuits I wasn’t familiar with. We want to enjoy it to the fullest and find a good pace so we can start the double-header with confidence and speed.”
